Happy (almost) Halloween!
We come to you all with an update from Jamkhed! Just this week we have started our newest endeavor, "A Photo a Day", a series which we hope will give you all a window into our experience over here in India. You will be able to catch our updated album every day both on Facebook and our Blog. In addition, we have added photos and bios of all of the Photovoice participants! You can take a look by clicking the "Participants" tab on our blog.
We are on our 3rd week of Photovoice at the Comprehensive Rural Health Project and so far our sessions have gone extremely well. In the past few weeks we've worked on getting to know one-another better, different techniques to use when storytelling as well as several photography guidelines (i.e. rule-of-thirds, symmetry, lines, point-of-view and repetition).
Last week we had a photo-scavenger hunt with the Kusedgaon group. In the hunt we split them into three groups and sent them into their village with a list of things to photograph.
Here are some examples from the hunt:

As you all can see from these photos, this exercise acted as an incredible platform to explore the intricacies of Kusedgaon and also gave a great starting point to discuss different issues and asset in their community.
Because the Village Health Workers group is smaller, we have been able to do some more photo-walks around the CRHP campus where they've be able to hone in on the photography guidelines and storytelling techniques we've shared with them.
Both groups are now are well on their way to developing their individual photo-story ideas that we will exhibit here in Jamkhed and in Pune in November.
Thank you to everyone who has asked about and are interested in these photographs and stories! We will be posting them over the next week so keep an eye out!
