Well, it's been a busy few weeks over here in India! We had a second photo exhibition here at CRHP for our Jamkhed photovoice participants on Friday. Annie and I transformed the Mabelle Arole Hall on campus into a rustic art gallery using twine, clothespins, and paperclips!
We had quite a large audience as there are many people here on campus this week, so the photos are getting a lot of international and local exposure! A group from Sri Lanka (which includes the Minister of Health) as well as a group of MPH students from Australia are currently visiting and they loved checking out the work that our participants have done. All of CRHP's VHWs were also on campus Friday afternoon and were able to attend the exhibition!
The participants loved how the photos were displayed and interacting with those who came to see what they have accomplished in such a short amount of time. We are so proud of them!
Sorry you couldn't hop on a plane to attend these exhibitions in person? Well, we have put together an exhibition page right here where you can see all of the photos and stories that we displayed! We have also uploaded individual galleries for all of our participants that include their best work.
A huge part of our exhibitions has been the opportunity for viewers to write their comments or questions on sticky notes. We've started some great discussions using this interactive activity, and we'd LOVE to hear what YOU think of these photographs and stories... so please feel free to comment below this blog post with your thoughts!
Enjoy!
